Septic Inspections
Troy Lake Septic Inspections The township of Rideau Lakes has been engaged in inspecting septic systems throughout the Township. These discussions have come up as a result of lake water quality concerns including the presence of algae blooms. In prior years the septic inspections have been in areas of the Township bordering the larger lakes and in the portion of the Township that is in the Rideau Valley Conservation Area. This year the inspections will be done in the Cataraqui Conservation Area portion of the Township specifically Delta, Beverly and Troy Lake.
Halloween 2020
Halloween 2020 Some of the cottagers on Troy Lake road got together to have a Halloween Walk/Trick down the road. We had a wonderful walk starting at the gate in front of the Wright/Listuk’s cottage and made our way all the way to the last hill before the private road sign. Thanks to all the cottages that participated in spoiling the kids, and to our chauffeur Justin. Here are some pictures of the ghosts, and ghouls….
Lake Water Data
Lake Water Data Steve Lauridsen has been maintaining a database of water samples taken from Troy lake, including phosphorus levels, turbidity and physical observations. AGM 2020
2020 AGM Meeting Our annual general meeting has been indefinitely postponed due to COVID-19, and the Ontario state of emergency measures that are in place. Due to this the TLRA executive met by video conference on Friday April 17th to discuss several items of importance to the association. Participants were: President: Tim Wright Vice President: Kris Cieplak Road Chair: Don Orr Secretary/Treasurer: Steve Lauridsen The TLRA Annual General Meeting scheduled for May 17th is postponed until further notice.

Lost and Found
A new section lost and found has been added to the website, where people can post lost docks, floaties, etc

When I started this website, I used a service called “sitebuilder.com”. It was a really simple WYSIWYG editor interaface and hosting service. The cost at the time was very reasonable, $60 for a two year period. Then our 2 year plan expired and the site and domain registration costs shot way up. Way way up to almost $110/year. Then a domain registration fee of $60USD/year, which is 6x the cost that most folks pay.
