Sappers and Miners Cemetery Restoration Dinner

The Sappers and Miners Cemetery in Newboro was established by the Royal Engineers in 1829 to provide burial plots for workers who died during the construction of the locks at the Isthmus (Newboro) and the cut through to Upper Rideau Lake. The committee sponsored a roast beef dinner to at the Newboro Community Hall on June 11. Thank you to the association members who contributed to the fund raising dinner in support of restoration of the Royal Sappers and Miners Cemetery at Newboro.
